OPERATING PROCEDURES

This page is to plot points of interest in the local flying areas for white jet aircraft.  The UPT base points will be moved to their own page and enhanced for useability.  Also, you may want to download Google Earth, run it, and select the "Google Earth Community" layer to see points that other pilots have plotted at various UPT bases (also allows for a 3D view from various altitudes).

Verified UPT studs, selects, instructors can edit or add plotted points to this page.  Some basic operating instructions for doing so:
  • Make sure you're registered, logged in, and have been given Gouge access rights
  • Drag the map around to move locations
  • Double click on the map to auto-zoom in (or use the control on the left portion of the map)
  • Want to add a point?  Click once on the point you want added which sets the coords and then
    • Click the "add point" link in the bottom right of the map/imagery
    • Leave the "location" box blank
    • Type a description starting with the ICAO for the field (ie DLF for Laughlin)
    • You can set the zoom level your point will show up as (17 is a safe bet for imagery)
    • You can add text that will show up in a balloon (comments, description, link, etc)
    • Choose the icon to be displayed according to the key mentioned above
    • Click save
  • Any user can edit any other user's points (or delete them)
  • Clicking on the point's title or icon will take you right to the point
The following icon selection coding is suggested to make the collection more useful:
  • For T-6 points of interest use the default icon (small purple teardrop)
  • For T-38 points of interest use the red version of the default icon
  • For T-1 points of interest use the green version of the default icon
  • For Non-UPT field points of interest use the blue version of the default icon
  • For outlining Departure or Arrival procedures use the big version icon for the airframe
